1 – AMER FORT, JAIPUR

Amer fort or Amber fort, located in Amer, Jaipur is one of the most splendid fort in our List of the Forts of Rajasthan. Located over the hilly terrain of Amer, this fort of Rajasthan attracts tourists from all over the world throughout the year. Known for its great style of art and architecture, this fort has its own lake, LAKE MAOTA, which is the only source of supply to the fort. Amer  fort, showcases the combination of greatest of all time, Rajput and Mughal Architecture. Widely made of red sandstone and marble, the fort is laid out on 4 levels. This picturesque fort of rajasthan,  consist of DIWAN-I-AAM, DIWAN-E-KHAAS, SHEESH MAHAL, JAI MANDIR, SUKH NIWAS.

The fort was home to Raja maan singh and his 12 queens. You can also witness the beautiful sunset as this fort of Jaipur, Rajasthan is situated high on the hill. The fort opens from at 8 am to 6pm. The best time to visit the fort is around 4-5 pm when the sun is not overhead as you can also witness the sunset. Amer fort also holds LIGHT AND SOUND show from 7pm-9pm. This light and sound show is breath-taking and also a must watch if you are visiting this marvelous fort of Rajasthan.

The Chittorgarh Fort or the Chittod Fort or Rajasthan, is also the UNESCO world heritage site. Situated in Chittorgarh, This iconic fort of Rajasthan, is located over a  180 m high hill. The fort was once home to 84 water bodies. The number now goes down to 22. These water bodies are in the form of ponds, wells, step-wells. Chittorgarh Fort of Rajasthan is famous for its historical story of Alauddin khilji and the bravery of the Rajput queens and their JAUHAR. 3 – BHANGARH FORT, ALWAR

 The Bhangarh fort in ALWAR was built around 16th century. This fort was built during the rule of BHAGWANT  DAS  as the residence of his second son Madho  singh. As per the sources ,  it is also the most HAUNTED forts of Rajasthan. Legends say that it had been cursed by a hermit named GURU BALU NATH. Although being mysterious and eerie, this fort of Rajasthan attracts visitors from all over the world. The fort is widely known for its stunning architecture, delicate carvings and eye-catchy paintings. This fort of Rajasthan is made using sandstone and marble. Despite the rumours of being haunted, this fort attracts tourists who come up to see its rich architectural heritage and experience the beauty of the forts of Rajasthan while others come up to satisfy their curiosity of paranormal activities in the fort. 4 – MEHRANGARH FORT, JODHPUR

Mehrangarh fort , located in Jodhpur is one among the historical forts of Rajasthan. Located on a hilltop, this heritage fort was built by a Rajput ruler RAO JODHA. The fort has 7  gates, with main entrance named as JAI POL. The fort houses numerous sight seeing places such as Chamunda Mataji Temple, A Museum, Rao jodha desert rock park. This fort also holds some of the most vibrant and enthusiastic festivals such as the World Sacred Spirit Festival and Rajasthan International Folk Festival. Altogether, today it is the one of the best preserved fort in India. The rich tapestry of culture and traditions is widely exhibited in the Mehrangarh fort of Rajasthan. 
The folk music performed by the musicians at the entrance of the fort , the rich delicacy of the cuisines served in the restaurants, the grand vibrant display at the Mehrangarh museum is a site to behold. The fort is open on all days of the week from 9 am to 5pm.

5 – JAISALMER FORT, JAISALMER

Standing amidst the sandy terrains of the THAR desert, this historical fort of Rajasthan       is situated on the Trikuta hill, hence  also known as TRIKUTAGARH. This architectural wonder is located in the Golden city of India, Jaisalmer. Just like the other forts of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer fort houses museum, shops, restaurants, residential accommodations, hotels etc. each one of which displays the lively, radiant and colorful culture and traditions of the state. The fort witnesses the fusion of Islamic and Rajput architecture. There are 4 gateways to reach this fort. The fort also has 99 bastitions. It is rightly described as an architectural marvel . Coming to its timings, the fort is opened from morning to evening , from 9 am to 5pm on all days of the week. 6 – JAIGARH FORT, JAIPUR

Jaigarh fort in Jaipur is synonymous to Amer fort in terms of its structure, style and architecture. It is also known as the VICTORY FORT. This splendid fort of Rajasthan is famous for the JAIVANA CANON, the largest canon in the world. The fort was built by MIRZA RAJA JAI SINGH, in order to protect the grand Amer fort and its complex. This fort opens on all days of the week from 9 in the morning to 6:30 pm in the evening.

7 – NAHARGARH FORT, JAIPUR

Nahargarh fort of Rajasthan, is situated on the edges of the Aravallis. Along with the Amer fort, Jaigarh fort , this fort also contributes to the safety of the city.
